Coinbase pauses Cosmos transfers; buying, selling and conversions remain available
Coinbase reported a temporary pause in Cosmos sends and receives at 12:35 UTC on 22 September. The exchange said buying, selling, conversions and fiat transactions were unaffected. It is investigating and has not announced a restoration time.

Cosmos transfer channels are restricted at both Coinbase and Kraken
Kraken marked Cosmos (ATOM) deposits and withdrawals as degraded at 11:49 UTC, before Coinbase announced its pause. Anyone moving the asset between these platforms faces restrictions at both the sending and receiving ends. A recovery notice from one platform alone would not establish that the full transfer route is working.
Coinbase explicitly kept buying, selling and conversions available, so trading inside an account and transferring assets out have different availability. Neither announcement establishes a common cause for the two disruptions; the comparison describes the platforms’ funding services.
